Old age pension (basic pension)
A basic pension will be paid if you have reached the age of 67. The pension comprises a basic amount and a pension supplement.
Everybody above the age of 67 who complies with the general requirements for a pension is entitled to receive the basic amount. The pension supplement is income-related according to the total income of the pensioner and any spouse.
The basic amount is not taxable whereas the supplement is. Old age pensioners have a special tax-related deduction.
Persons, who before reaching the age of 67 received a help or home-care supplement, will retain this when they start receiving an old age pension.
In addition to the pension supplement, help and home-care supplement a person may be eligible to a special personal supplement subject to a specific needs assessment. All pensioners are also entitled to a medicine supplement.
Personal supplement, help or home-care supplements are non-taxable.
